We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead!
So it's time to prepare yourselves for a special one-hour production of Horrible Histories!

Could you beat battling Boudicca? What if you caught the putrid plague? Would you lose your heart or your head to Horrible Henry? Will Parliament survive gunpowder Guy? Would you stand and deliver to dastardly Dick Turpin? Escape the clutches of Burke and Hare and move to the groove with party queen,  Victoria!

It's the history of Britain with the nasty bits left in!

"The Horrible Histories Stage shows have become a bit of a British institution.  It's not hard to spot why.  Think Fry and Laurie, mixed with Little Britain and a dash of Monty Python.  It's sparky, cheeky and covered in poo!" The Guardian

"Blood, guts and gross gags - a sharp 60 minutes through centuries of our island's barminess!" Evening Standard.

Relaxed Performance (Autism Friendly)
A relaxed performance is about welcoming adults and children with special needs (including Autistic Spectrum Conditions) and, crucially, their families to the theatre to a performance where those needs are accounted for with a more relaxed atmosphere and some changes to the production itself if necessary eg: lowering of lights or sound at certain points of the show. There is a special ‘chill-out’ zone which can be used during any point of the performance. This will be a safe and supervised space for audience members to come out if they should wish to take time out. And there’ll be lots of friendly members of the Front of House team on hand!

We also have a 'social story' visual guide to our building for information. You can download the visual guide by click here.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by author/illustrator Eric Carle has delighted generations of readers since it was first published in 1969 selling more than 41 million copies worldwide.

Eric's well-known books captivated readers with his iconic colourful hand-painted tissue paper collage illustrations and distinctively simple stories, introducing generations of children to a bigger, brighter world – and to their first experience of reading itself.

Now, the timeless classic makes its way off the page and onto the stage in this critically acclaimed production featuring a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets, faithfully adapting four of Eric Carle stories, The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

"Somewhere, hidden amongst the thorny brambles is a little kingdom where everyone is very very small..."

From the makers of Peppa Pig comes this BAFTA award-winning television animation live on stage!

Holly is a young Fairy Princess, who is still learning how to fly and her magic doesn’t always go quite according to plan. Her best friend, Ben the Elf, doesn’t have wings and he doesn’t do magic, but he runs very fast and flies on the back of Gaston the Ladybird. They live in the Little Kingdom, a tiny land where flowers and grass rise high above them and every day is an adventure.

Ben and Holly have fun and games helping Gaston the Ladybird clean up his messy cave, they go on a trip into The Big World with tooth-fairy Nanny Plum, even plan a surprise birthday party for King Thistle, and oops, let’s hope there’s not another jelly flood!

Join Ben and Holly, and their friends on this exciting, enchanting and magical musical adventure packed full of games, songs and laughter. This beautiful story of elves, princesses and childhood innocence will delight all the family!
